GIBLIB — rebuilding a medical education streaming platform
GIBLIB is a funded California-based company — the "Netflix of Medical Education" — an on-demand streaming service where physicians and advanced practice providers learn and earn CME credits through high-quality content created by trusted experts from the world's top hospitals. GIBLIB was no more than a basic proof of concept when presented to NH66; they wanted to reinvent the whole platform while retaining only the video library, to expand outreach and raise additional funding.
NH66 reimplemented the entire platform from scratch. We improved performance by 4× and added several new features, including a comprehensive search and an ML-based recommendation engine on AWS SageMaker.
The new version of the entire GIBLIB web app was designed and built in 14 weeks. The demos post-development attracted several new medical establishments as customers and helped them partner with Continuing Medical Education (CME). On the high quality of delivery, an additional engagement to build a mobile experience was signed.
“The nh66 team were very helpful during our migration to a completely new architecture, providing engagement and support all along the way. At the end of the discovery phase, nh66 created a new database and software architecture design along with a project plan that allowed us to migrate to the new version without any serious issues — and go into production within schedule and budget.”
